How can parents get help understanding special education services?

They don't have to sign the IEP, and tell the team you don't understand whats on it or that you don't agree with whats on it. PARENTS have all the rights and most do not realize it. There are advocacy groups, contact the board of education in your state to locate one. Special Ed gets sued on a regular basis and will always try to serve the student in the best possible way. The parent must indicate to the educators that they do NOT understand what is happening or what is being said. That is their responsibility.
