What is the best sure way to kill every fruit fly in my house without me breating in a chemical concoction?

I used a good old fashioned fly strip, took it down before company came over. Have heard that you can put a little dish soap and vinegar in water and set it near their hangout. Looking for the details, if I find them, will modify this.
