Possible Pre-eclampsia, I'm scared and could use some help please.?

I am currently 20 weeks pregnant with my first baby. Yesterday I ended up at the emergency room because I lost vision in my left eye, my last three fingers on my left hand went numb, as did the left side of my mouth. The ER doc briefly mentioned preeclampsia but "I'm not far along enough for that to happen" so I was sent home with instructions on how to care for a migraine even though I only had a minor headache. They did not check the baby heart rate or anything. I followed up with my family doc today and she just said to come back if it gets worse. My vision is still blurry and I am still dizzy. Does this sound like preeclampsia or am I making a mountain out of a molehill? Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.
