Am I seeing the right kind of dr. for hypothyroid?

I am seeing an ear nose and throat specialist for my thyroid. I have nodules on my thyroid and my regular dr. thought I might need surgery. But he doesn't really explain anything to me about it. I have had to learn from others that it is connected to my fibromyalgia for example. Is there another kind of dr. that is supposed to manage thyroid diseases? Thank you.
